WordPress Developer
We are looking for a skilled WordPress Developer to join the Voctos digital team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining high-performance WordPress websites for clients across multiple industries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and customize WordPress themes and plugins to meet client requirements
- Build SEO-optimized page structures aligned with GEO and AI Optimization strategies
- Integrate technical SEO elements including schema markup, structured data, and performance optimizations
- Collaborate with the SEO team to implement SERM (Search Engine Reputation Management) best practices on-site
- Work closely with designers to translate wireframes and mockups into pixel-perfect WordPress templates
- Maintain and optimize website speed, Core Web Vitals, and overall technical health
- Manage hosting environments, backups, security, and plugin updates
- Support content teams by setting up Elementor or Gutenberg page builders for non-technical editors
- Contribute to AI-driven content structure experiments and landing page testing
- Coordinate with the broader digital team on multi-channel campaign integrations
What We Look For
- 2 to 4 years of hands-on experience in WordPress development, preferably within a digital agency environment
- Strong command of PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript as they apply to WordPress theme and plugin development
- Deep experience with Elementor, Gutenberg, and custom WordPress theme building from scratch or starter themes
- Solid understanding of WordPress architecture: hooks, filters, CPTs, taxonomies, REST API, and multisite
- Ability to build and maintain performant, secure WordPress sites with attention to Core Web Vitals and page speed
- Familiarity with SEO fundamentals including schema markup, clean URL structures, and technical on-page requirements
- Experience with Rank Math or Yoast SEO configuration and integration with development workflows
- Proficiency with Git version control and deployment pipelines (staging to production)
- Comfort working within cross-functional teams alongside designers, content writers, and SEO strategists
- A detail-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
