Snapchat Product Ads in Arab Markets: Catalog Rules for Arabic Titles and White Friday

Snapchat now runs catalog product ads inside Chat, and Arabic titles strain its truncation guide. In our test of 123 Arabic product titles on Amazon.sa on 8 October 2026, 114 ran past the roughly 40 characters Snap recommends for an ad title. The ad pulls your title and price by default, so fix the feed before White Friday starts.
What did Snapchat change for product ads?
Snapchat announced a Commerce Power Pack on 10 September 2026 that puts Dynamic Product Ads into Sponsored Snaps, so catalog ads appear in Snap DMs. The announcement is aimed at the holiday season. Updated 8 October 2026: Snap says DPA for Sponsored Snaps is “available now for all global advertisers” and names no excluded countries. It publishes no list of countries where Sponsored Snaps serve, so check that the option appears in Ads Manager for your Saudi, UAE or Egyptian account before you plan budget.
Updated 8 October 2026: Snap’s announcement lists three optimization updates alongside it: Value Optimization (beta), Third-Party Web Optimization (open beta) and Omnichannel Optimization (alpha). Snap’s announcement does not name any Arab market specifically, and we have not spent on the format ourselves. Everything below comes from Snap’s own catalog documentation and from tests we ran on public pages. See Snap’s Commerce Power Pack announcement for the source and the Social Media Today report for press coverage.
What does Snap’s catalog spec require?
Snap requires seven core fields on every product (id, title, description, link, image link, availability and price), plus one of brand, GTIN or MPN. Out-of-stock items are excluded from ads automatically. The title and price are the two fields shown on the ad by default, so they decide how the creative looks.
We read Snap’s Product Catalog Field List in full on 8 October 2026. The limits that matter for Arab stores are below.
| Field | Snap rule | What it means for an Arab store |
|---|---|---|
| title | Up to 375 characters; ad shows up to three lines; about 40 characters recommended | Long Arabic marketplace titles get cut on the ad |
| price | “199 USD” or “USD 199”; currency required if not USD | Write “199 SAR”, “199 AED” or “199 EGP”, never a bare number |
| id | Up to 128 characters, unique, must match the item ID your Snap Pixel sends | Your pixel must send the same ID for retargeting to match |
| image link | JPEG, PNG or WebP; at least 200 by 200 pixels; no GIF | WebP images are accepted |
| link and mobile link | Up to 2,000 characters; the ad uses the mobile link when both exist | Arabic URL slugs must be percent-encoded |
| brand, GTIN or MPN | Only one is required | Brand alone is enough for local brands without barcodes |
| custom labels | Up to 100 characters; about 40 may show | Use short labels such as a White Friday tag |
Do Arabic product titles survive the 40-character guide?
Mostly not. On 8 October 2026 we pulled the product titles from two Arabic searches on Amazon.sa and counted characters: 114 of 123 titles (93%) exceeded 40 characters. Marketplace titles run long, so a feed copied from a marketplace listing is likely to be trimmed on the ad.
The two searches were Arabic queries for men’s perfume and men’s hoodies, run on the first results page each. The perfume page gave 60 titles with a median of 57 characters; 55 were over 40 and 28 were over 60. The hoodie page gave 63 titles with a median of 75 characters; 59 were over 40 and 46 were over 60. In total, 112 of the 123 titles were written in Arabic and 10 mixed Arabic and Latin text.
This is a snapshot of one marketplace on one day, run from a Cairo connection, and not a measure of how Snap trims text. Snap’s guide says “about 40”, not a hard cut, and it does not say how Arabic characters are counted. Treat 40 as a design target and test one live preview before you load 2,000 products.
How do SAR, AED and EGP prices fit Snap’s price field?
Snap reads price as an amount plus a currency code, and a catalog needs a default currency in ISO 4217 format. Saudi riyal (SAR), UAE dirham (AED) and Egyptian pound (EGP) all follow that format. Updated 8 October 2026: Snap’s Dynamic Product Ads developer guide lists the accepted default_currency values, and SAR, AED, EGP, KWD and QAR are all on that list. The same guide documents an error code for a currency its exchange-rate service does not support.
Snap’s Dynamic Product Ads guide names the error CAT_FX_RATE_NOT_SUPPORTED for that case. Updated 8 October 2026: EGP is on Snap’s accepted currency list. We have not uploaded a feed ourselves, so treat the list as the rule and the test upload as the proof. Run a five-product test upload in each currency first. A store that sells in Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Egypt should keep three catalogs, one per currency, instead of converting prices inside one feed.
Can one feed serve Snapchat and ChatGPT?
Partly. Both channels need a unique ID, a title, a price with a currency code, a link and an image, so one clean master sheet can feed both. They differ on brand rules, availability values and title length. Salla’s own catalog tool covers Snapchat but its help page does not list ChatGPT.
Salla’s help center says Salla Catalog (updated 29 August 2026) creates one link in the language and currency you choose and connects it to Snapchat, TikTok, Google, Meta and X. For ChatGPT, our White Friday feed guide covers the nine required fields.
| Item | Snapchat catalog | ChatGPT product file |
|---|---|---|
| Language field | Not specified in Snap’s field list | None in the schema (one title per item) |
| Price format | “199 SAR” or “SAR 199” | Amount, space, ISO currency code |
| Brand | One of brand, GTIN or MPN | Brand and seller name both required |
| Title length | 375 maximum, about 40 recommended for the ad | Write the full product name |
| Salla Catalog link | Listed as supported | Not listed on Salla’s help page |
If you want a deeper look at the store side, the Salla and Zid SEO audit shows what we check on product pages first.
One feed, three channels: Snapchat, ChatGPT and Google Merchant Center
Most Arab stores already feed Google Merchant Center, so the useful comparison has three columns. All three read an ID, a title, a link, an image and a price with an ISO 4217 currency code, so one master sheet can export three feeds. Sources, read 8 October 2026: Snap’s DPA developer guide, OpenAI’s product feed spec and Google’s Merchant Center help.
| Item | Snapchat catalog | ChatGPT product feed | Google Merchant Center |
|---|---|---|---|
| Arab currencies | SAR, AED, EGP, KWD, QAR, BHD and OMR on the default currency list | Standard uploads target the US; other markets and currencies only after OpenAI confirms them | SAR, AED, EGP and KWD listed for their countries; Qatar is not on the country list |
| Price format | Amount plus currency; one default currency per feed | Amount, a space, ISO code (such as 449.00 SAR) | Number plus ISO code; include VAT for Saudi Arabia and the UAE |
| Title length | See the field table above | Aim for 150 characters or fewer | 1 to 150 characters; users usually notice the first 70 or fewer |
| Language | No language field in the DPA developer guide | No language field; UTF-8 text | Arabic supported; product data and landing page in the same language |
| Sale prices | sale_price_effective_date is validated | Sale dates are metadata only; update prices when the sale starts and ends | Sale price shows as current during the period you set |
| Images | Image link required | Direct JPEG or PNG link | 500 x 500 pixel minimum from 31 January 2027; ASCII-only URLs; no promo text on the image |
Qatar is the gap. Snap accepts QAR, while Google’s supported country list does not include Qatar, so Snapchat catalog ads reach a market Google Shopping does not list.
How much demand does Snapchat advertising have in Arab markets?
Search volume for “snapchat ads” is largest in Saudi Arabia: 8,100 monthly searches in our 8 October 2026 Semrush pull, against 2,400 in Egypt and 1,000 in the UAE. Snap’s advertising reach was 24.7 million in Saudi Arabia and 19.7 million in Egypt in January 2025, per DataReportal.
We pulled the figures from the Semrush Keyword Magic Tool on 8 October 2026 for the seed “snapchat ads”. These are Semrush estimates for English queries, and the CPC column is what Google advertisers bid, not Snapchat prices. DataReportal’s reach number counts potential ad audience, not confirmed active users, and it is nine months old.
| Market | “snapchat ads” monthly searches | “snapchat ads manager” | Keywords in set | Average difficulty |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Saudi Arabia | 8,100 (CPC $9.04) | 2,400 | 171 | 52% |
| Egypt | 2,400 (CPC $4.14) | 2,400 | 75 | 51% |
| UAE | 1,000 (CPC $11.23) | 720 | 127 | 39% |
Egypt’s “ads manager” query matches Saudi Arabia’s at 2,400 even though its “snapchat ads” query is about a third the size. For the wider platform picture, see our social media ad reach data.
A dated White Friday test plan for 2026
White Friday 2026 should run from Friday 27 to Monday 30 November if retailers follow the rule in Amazon Ads’ White Friday guide: it begins on the Friday after US Thanksgiving and typically lasts four days. The guide gives no 2026 date, so confirm with your marketplaces.
| Dates (2026) | Do this | Done when |
|---|---|---|
| 12 to 18 Oct | Build one master sheet: stable IDs, a short ad title column, one currency per market | Top sellers pass the Snap, ChatGPT and Google specs |
| 19 to 25 Oct | Create one Snap catalog per currency and upload five products to each; match catalog IDs to your Pixel | No currency or title errors |
| 26 Oct to 8 Nov | Run a small fixed-budget DPA test in Saudi Arabia on 20 to 50 best sellers; compare cost per purchase with store orders | A keep, change or stop decision |
| 9 to 22 Nov | Rehearse one sale-price change, then freeze the catalog and set an hourly feed fetch | Feed and product page prices match |
| 23 to 30 Nov | Switch sale prices on for 27 November; check stock each morning; pause sets that sell out | No spend on out-of-stock items |
| 1 to 7 Dec | Reconcile Snap-reported purchases with store orders | One agreed Snapchat revenue number |
If the feed is not clean by 25 October, skip the paid test and spend the time on the feed.
Our read
We would not move White Friday budget into Chat product ads on announcement alone. Updated 8 October 2026: Snap says the format is open to all global advertisers, but in the pages we read it gave no Arab-market results and no Arabic formatting guidance, and we have no spend on the format. The cheap, safe work is the feed: short titles, currency codes and clean IDs help every channel you already use.
The title test is the part we would act on this week. A 40-character Arabic title that still names the product and the key attribute will serve Snapchat, TikTok and Google feeds, so the effort is not wasted if Chat ads are slow to reach your market. Do not copy marketplace titles into the feed. Write a short ad title column and keep the long title for your store page.

FAQ
Are Snapchat product ads in Chat live in Saudi Arabia?
Updated 8 October 2026: Snap says Dynamic Product Ads for Sponsored Snaps are available now for all global advertisers, and its 10 September 2026 announcement names no excluded countries. It publishes no list of countries where Sponsored Snaps serve, so confirm the option appears in Ads Manager for your Saudi account before you plan budget.
My Arabic titles look cut off in the preview. What do I fix?
Snap recommends about 40 characters because the ad can show up to three lines. Add a separate short title column that keeps the product type and one attribute, and keep the long marketplace title for your store page. Preview three products in each currency before loading the full catalog.
Can I use my Salla catalog link for Snapchat?
Salla’s help center says Salla Catalog generates one link, in the language and currency you choose, and lists Snapchat among the connected platforms. We have not tested the link ourselves, so upload it to a test catalog and check that titles, prices and IDs match your Snap Pixel events.
Do I need a different feed for Egypt?
Updated 8 October 2026: Plan one catalog per currency. Snap’s developer guide allows one primary feed per catalog, each with one default currency, and EGP is on its accepted list alongside SAR, AED, KWD and QAR. Run a five-product EGP test upload before you convert a full Saudi or UAE catalog.
Is Snapchat cheaper than Google for this audience?
We cannot say. The CPC figures above are Google advertiser bids in Semrush, not Snapchat prices, and VOCTOS has no published Snapchat campaign results. Compare cost per purchase from your own pixel data after a small test, not from keyword tools.
Where to start this week
If your catalog already has clean IDs and currency codes, run a five-product Snap test upload now and check the title preview. If your titles are copied from a marketplace or your IDs change when SKUs change, fix those first, because every channel reads the same mistakes. For a full plan, book my feed and tracking check.
