ChatGPT Shopping Ads Before White Friday: A 6-Week Plan for Arab Stores

ChatGPT Shopping Ads Before White Friday

ChatGPT already shows Arab shoppers product cards with local prices. We ran 7 shopping prompts on 4 October 2026, in English, Gulf Arabic and Egyptian Arabic, and every answer carried product images and prices in SAR, AED or EGP. Noon was named in 5 of the 7 answers. Amazon and Salla or Zid stores were named in none. Before White Friday, your job is to make your catalogue as easy for ChatGPT to read as Noon’s.

Our test ran on a paid Plus account in Temporary Chat, and OpenAI shows ads in neither, so it shows the organic shopping answer rather than the ad slots. Below you will find what shoppers see today, what OpenAI changed for advertisers on 30 September, the feed fields its schema asks for, the Arabic copy risk, and a six-week countdown that starts on 12 October.

What did ChatGPT show Arab shoppers in our 7-prompt test?

Every one of our 7 prompts returned product images, between 3 and 10 per answer, and quoted prices in the shopper’s own currency. Noon was the retailer ChatGPT named most, in 5 answers across Saudi, UAE and Egyptian prompts. Answers followed the dialect of the question, and English and Arabic versions picked the same top product.

A VOCTOS team member ran the prompts on 4 October 2026 from Cairo in desktop Chrome, one run per prompt, and we read each final answer after 60 to 90 seconds before counting the images, the local-currency mentions and the retailers named. Nothing else was scored.

Prompt (translated where Arabic) اللغة Images Currency mentions Retailers named
Best air fryer under SAR 500 in Saudi Arabia الإنجليزية 10 9 (SAR) Noon
Same question اللغة العربية الخليجية 9 5 (riyal) Noon
Where to buy iPhone 17 Pro at the best price in Dubai الإنجليزية 5 3 (AED) Carrefour, Noon, Sharaf DG
Cheapest iPhone 17 Pro price in Dubai اللغة العربية الخليجية 3 10 (dirham, AED) Carrefour, Sharaf DG, Noon
Best vacuum cleaner under EGP 10,000 in Egypt اللغة العربية المصرية 8 6 (EGP) Noon, B.TECH
Best men’s perfume gift under AED 400 in the UAE الإنجليزية 10 7 (AED) Faces, Bloomingdale’s
Same question اللغة العربية الخليجية 9 7 (AED) Faces

The air fryer and perfume questions, asked once in English and once in Gulf Arabic, produced the same top pick in both languages: a Philips air fryer and Montblanc Explorer. The runners-up differed. The Egyptian answer replied in Egyptian dialect and ended by asking about floor type and home size.

Treat this as a snapshot. Seven prompts with one run each is a small sample. The account was a signed-in Plus account in Temporary Chat with personalization still active, and one answer greeted the tester by first name. Prices are what ChatGPT reported, such as a lowest iPhone 17 Pro offer of AED 4,099 at Carrefour. We did not check them against the retailers.

Why does Noon get named and your store does not?

Our 7 answers do not tell us why ChatGPT chose Noon, and OpenAI does not publish how it picks retailers. The pattern is still clear. ChatGPT named large retailers with structured product pages, such as Noon, Carrefour and Sharaf DG, 13 times in total, and it named no independent brand store at all.

Our working explanation, and we label it as one, is that a marketplace page hands a shopping system everything at once: a clean product name, a local-currency price, stock status, a delivery promise and reviews, often in both languages. A brand store on Salla or Zid frequently sells the same product on a thinner page with fewer reviews. Amazon’s absence from all 7 answers surprised us, and one small test cannot explain it.

A brand has two routes. The first is to be strong where ChatGPT already looks. If your products sit on Noon or Amazon, the listing quality there counts, and our guide to Amazon.sa and Noon listing SEO covers titles and attributes. The second is to make your own store readable, with complete product schema, price and stock in plain text, and Arabic and English versions on separate URLs. Our تدقيقنا لسيو متاجر سلة وزد lists the template gaps to check.

Where do ChatGPT Ads fit before White Friday?

ChatGPT Ads reach a different audience from the one in our test. OpenAI shows ads to Free and Go users and in logged-out sessions, never to Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or Edu accounts, and never in Temporary Chats. Self-service Ads Manager is open to advertisers based in 13 Arab markets, including Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Egypt.

‏ صفحة توفر Ads Manager, updated in late September 2026, lists Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia and the United Arab Emirates as available. The test is where your company is: the legal entity that advertises and gets billed must be based in a listed country. The page says nothing about who sees ads in those countries.

For the user side, OpenAI’s help article on ads in ChatGPT says ads appear below the end of a response, labelled as sponsored, and that it is rolling them out gradually to Free and Go users in select regions. OpenAI publishes no impression counts by country, so nobody outside OpenAI knows how many Free users in Riyadh or Cairo see ads today.

Daily budget floors, the home-country rule and blocked categories are covered in our guide to ChatGPT Ads Manager in Saudi Arabia and the UAE. We will not repeat them here. For White Friday, order matters. Product ads of any kind, on ChatGPT or on Google, run on product data, and a weak catalogue produces weak ads wherever you place them.

What changed in Ads Manager on 30 September?

Two of the changes OpenAI announced to advertisers on 30 September 2026 matter for White Friday. Product feed campaigns can now be built in bulk from a spreadsheet, and the Products tab shows each product’s review status with the reason for any rejection. Together they shorten the path from a clean feed to live product ads.

Search Engine Roundtable published the advertiser email on the same day. The bulk route sits under Campaigns > Bulk uploads > Bulk sheet > Product feed template, so campaigns for several product lines can go into one file instead of being built one at a time. The email also added conversion reporting beyond the campaign goal through the Insights API, and separate account, brand and legal names.

That last change carries a sale-week warning. A brand name change pauses serving until OpenAI approves it, so settle the brand name on your account in October and leave it alone in November. The same email listed new ad markets in Southeast Asia and Taiwan. None of the changes was specific to Arab markets.

The feed fields to prepare for White Friday

OpenAI’s product file schema requires nine fields on every row: item_id, title, description, url, brand, seller_name, image_url, availability and price. For White Friday we would add sale_price, gtin, review_count and star_rating, because OpenAI’s product ads show prices, sale prices and star ratings. We would fix missing GTINs and brands first.

The full list is in OpenAI’s product file schema, which the Ads Manager help pages link to as the feed specification. These are the fields we would fill for a White Friday catalogue, with the detail that matters in Arab markets.

Field What goes in it Arab-market detail
item_id Your SKU, one per size or colour, never reused Keep it stable between uploads; OpenAI matches products by item_id
group_id, listing_has_variations, variant_dict Parent listing ID shared by variants, plus the selected options Needed when one product comes in several sizes or colours
title Brand, product type, model, main attribute; aim for 150 characters or fewer One title per row; see the language note below
description Plain text: what it is, what is in the box, the specs a buyer compares No claims you could not defend to a regulator in each market
url The product page, with the variant selected where possible Public HTTPS page in the same language as the title
image_url Direct link to the main JPEG or PNG photo of this variant Plain background, no text or price burned into the image
price Amount, a space, then the ISO currency code, such as 449.00 SAR Decimal point, no thousands separators, Western digits
sale_price The current sale price, lower than price and in the same currency Dates do not switch it on or off; update the feed when the sale starts and ends
availability in_stock, out_of_stock, pre_order, backorder or unknown A blank value rejects the row; refresh daily in sale week
brand, seller_name Brand as shown on the product page; the name of the store selling it Real names only, never placeholders
gtin, mpn Barcode of 8, 12, 13 or 14 digits with a valid check digit; maker’s part number Grey-import stock often lacks a GTIN; OpenAI says not to invent one
review_count, star_rating Product review count and average rating out of 5 Product reviews only, not store reviews
is_ads_eligible, ads_metadata true for products ads can use; custom labels such as custom_label_0 A label like white_friday lets you give sale products their own ad group

Language is the open question. The schema has one title and one description per item_id and no language field, and we found no documented way to send an Arabic and an English title for the same item. Write both versions on your store pages, and ask OpenAI’s ads support which language your feed title should carry in each market before you upload.

Market and currency need the same check. The schema says a standard upload currently targets the US, and other markets need OpenAI to confirm the countries and currencies for your feed. Before you build a SAR, AED or EGP feed, confirm in your own Ads Manager account that your country and currency are accepted.

Here is one sample record in JSON with the schema’s field names. The product, store and figures are placeholders, and the sale price shows what the row would carry during sale week only.

Salla and Zid stores: plan for a manual feed

As of 4 October 2026 we have not confirmed a ChatGPT Ads app for Salla or Zid, so plan as if you will build and host the feed yourself. Start from the product export in your store admin and clean it into the field set above. That file then serves any channel that accepts a product feed, not only ChatGPT.

Shopify merchants may get a shorter route through an official ChatGPT Ads app. We could not confirm on 4 October 2026 whether that app is open to stores in Arab markets, so check inside Ads Manager before planning around it.

For Salla and Zid, the work splits into six steps. Most of the time goes into the second and third, because supplier barcodes and hand-written titles are slow to collect for a catalogue of any size:

  1. Export every active product and variant from the store admin, with SKU, price and stock.
  2. Fill the gaps: brand on every row, GTIN from the box or supplier, MPN where no barcode exists.
  3. Write the Arabic and English titles by hand for your top 50 sellers first, then the rest.
  4. Host the file at a stable HTTPS URL that refreshes at least daily, so price and stock changes flow through.
  5. Check that your robots.txt and any bot protection let OAI-AdsBot and OAI-SearchBot reach your product pages, as OpenAI’s guide to creating ads requires.
  6. Compare 20 random rows against the live product pages and fix any price or stock that differs.

If you also sell on Noon, treat that listing as a second route into the same answers. Our test suggests ChatGPT already reads Noon pages in Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Egypt, and the same product data improves both.

The Arabic copy risk in claim-sensitive categories

Arabic ad copy that a tool rewrites or translates for you needs a human check before it runs, and in claim-sensitive categories it needs a written sign-off. A translated superlative or health promise turns a compliant English line into one your regulator, or OpenAI’s ad policy, rejects. Treat any automatic rewrite as a draft.

‏ ad policies, updated on 10 September 2026, prohibit legal services ads outside the United States and, as a rule, health and financial services ads there too. They also bar unsupported wellness claims everywhere. The White Friday exposure sits next door to those categories. Think of skincare that “treats” rather than “moisturises”, supplements listed as groceries, instalment plans called “interest free”, or a perfume promised to “last 24 hours”. A literal translation keeps the claim and sometimes sharpens it.

Dialect is the second trap, and it is easy to miss when the person approving the copy reads only one variety of Arabic. Our test showed ChatGPT answering Gulf questions in Gulf dialect and Egyptian questions in Egyptian, so shoppers in each market read the conversation in their own register. Modern Standard Arabic works in both. A machine-made dialect line written for Riyadh can read oddly in Cairo, and the reverse.

Our rule is simple. If your ad account offers to rewrite or translate copy automatically, keep it off for regulated and near-regulated products, have a native copywriter write the Arabic, and file an approval for each line. This is not legal advice; check the advertising rules of the regulator in each market you sell to.

A 6-week countdown to White Friday

White Friday sales run in late November, and Black Friday itself falls on Friday 27 November 2026. Counting back gives six working weeks from Monday 12 October, plus this week for an audit. Feed and tracking work belongs in the first three weeks, and paid testing and copy in the last three.

Week Dates (2026) Do this Done when
0 5 to 11 Oct Run 10 prompts for your own products in ChatGPT, in Arabic and English; log the retailers named; confirm your brand name in Ads Manager You know who ChatGPT names for your top 10 products
1 12 to 18 Oct Export the catalogue; add GTIN, brand and both titles Top 50 products have every field filled
2 19 to 25 Oct Product schema and visible price and stock on store pages; Pixel and UTM tracking A test order shows in Ads Manager and GA4
3 26 Oct to 1 Nov Build the hosted feed file with a daily refresh; check product review status; clean up Noon listings The feed refreshes without manual edits and no product shows a rejection
4 2 to 8 Nov Hand-written Arabic and English ad copy; compliance sign-off; launch a floor-budget test Ads approved and first clicks tracked
5 9 to 15 Nov Read first results; drop products with no clicks; prepare the sale-price update for the first sale morning The sale-price file is tested, not typed in on the day
6 16 to 22 Nov Freeze catalogue changes; check stock daily; shift budget to products that convert No price gap between feed and page
Sale 23 to 29 Nov Push sale prices when the sale starts and remove them when it ends; check price and stock every morning; pause sold-out products Nothing sold out is still receiving clicks

If you start late, cut weeks 4 and 5 down to a feed-only plan. A clean feed and correct prices help in November even without a paid test, while a rushed test on a broken feed tells you nothing.

What should you measure after launch?

Measure three things separately: whether ChatGPT names your store or products in organic shopping answers, what paid ChatGPT clicks cost and convert at, and whether the feed’s price and stock match the landing page. Keep the organic check manual and dated, because personalization changes answers from one account to the next.

  • Organic presence. Re-run the same 10 prompts every week, in Arabic and English, in a logged-out private window. Logged-out sessions are also where ads can appear, so this check covers both. Record every retailer named.
  • Paid results. Conversions from the OpenAI Pixel or Conversions API, matched against GA4 sessions tagged with your UTMs. Our دليلنا لتتبّع تحويلات إعلانات ChatGPT sets up all three systems.
  • Feed health. Rejected rows in Upload History, review status and rejection reasons in the Products tab, and price or stock mismatches found in your weekly spot check.
  • Sale-week revenue. Revenue from ChatGPT sessions in GA4 next to your other paid channels, read by language and by market.

Our own next step is the test this one could not run. We plan to repeat the 7 prompts logged out, which is where OpenAI says ads appear, and to publish what changes.

رأينا

For most Arab brand stores, the bigger White Friday opportunity in ChatGPT this year sits in the organic shopping answer, ahead of the ad slot. Our 7 answers named retailers 13 times and gave none of those mentions to an independent brand store. Fix that first, then buy ads on top of a feed that already works.

We would put the next three weeks into the catalogue: bilingual titles, GTINs, correct prices and product schema on every top seller. Then we would run ChatGPT Ads as a floor-budget test on 10 to 20 best-selling products from early November. The feed work also pays off on Google Shopping and on the marketplaces, so it is not wasted if ChatGPT ads deliver little in your market this year.

Two things we would not do. We would not buy ChatGPT ads for products whose feed data is incomplete, because the ad inherits every gap. We would not let any tool write Arabic ad copy unreviewed, least of all in beauty, supplements or instalment offers. The upside of speed is small, and a rejected or misleading ad in sale week costs more than it saves.

الأسئلة الشائعة

Do ChatGPT Plus users see shopping ads?

No. OpenAI shows ads only to Free and Go users and in logged-out sessions, and it keeps Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Edu accounts free of ads. Temporary Chats show none either. Plus users still see organic shopping answers. In our 7-prompt test on 4 October 2026, all 7 answers showed product images and local prices.

My store is on Salla or Zid. Can I still run ChatGPT shopping ads?

Yes, if the company that pays is based in one of the 13 Arab markets OpenAI lists for self-service, including Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Egypt. What we could not confirm, as of 4 October 2026, is a ChatGPT Ads app for Salla or Zid. Export your catalogue, add GTIN and brand, and host a feed that refreshes daily.

Should my product titles be in Arabic or English?

Write both on your store, each by a person, on separate Arabic and English pages. OpenAI’s feed schema has one title per product row and no language field, so ask OpenAI which language your feed should carry in each market. Keep the brand name and model number in Latin characters in both versions, so they match.

Why does ChatGPT keep recommending Noon instead of my website?

OpenAI does not publish how ChatGPT picks retailers, so nobody outside OpenAI can answer that with certainty. In our test Noon appeared in 5 of 7 answers and no brand store appeared at all. The two levers you control are clean listings on marketplaces you already sell on and complete product data on your own store.

Is it too late to set this up for White Friday?

Not if you start this week. Black Friday falls on 27 November 2026, which leaves about seven weeks from 5 October. Three weeks of feed and tracking work, followed by three weeks of paid testing at the minimum budget, fits that window. Starting in November leaves enough time for a clean feed but not for a paid test.

Where to start this week

Whether to buy ChatGPT ads before White Friday is the smaller question. The bigger one is whether ChatGPT can read your products well enough to name them, paid or organic. In our test, marketplaces cleared that bar on 4 October 2026 and brand stores did not appear at all. That gap is fixable.

If your top products already have clean Arabic and English titles, GTINs, correct prices and working tracking, run a floor-budget ChatGPT Ads test from the first week of November. If they do not, fix the feed and product pages first, and run the paid test once White Friday is over. Help me get my catalogue ready for White Friday.
