Google Ads Inside AI Mode Reach 12 Countries, None of Them Arab: What Arab Advertisers Can and Cannot Buy Today

Google now sells ads inside AI Mode and AI Overviews in 12 countries, and none of them is Arab. Google’s own support page lists them, and the only language it lists is English.

That does not mean Arab advertisers are shut out of AI search. Ads above and below an AI Overview run in every country and language where AI Overviews are available. What you cannot yet buy in an Arab country is a placement inside the AI answer itself. This article separates the two, so you can tell a client what they actually get.

Where do Google ads appear inside AI Mode and AI Overviews today?

According to Google’s support page on ads in AI-powered experiences in Search, ads within AI Overviews and AI Mode are available in 12 countries, in English only. Google’s blog post of 28 October 2026 names ten as live now: Australia, Canada, India, Kenya, Malaysia, New Zealand, Nigeria, Pakistan, the Philippines and Singapore. The support page adds the United States and Indonesia, and notes limits for two: Indonesia is AI Overviews only, and Pakistan is text ads only.

Placement Where it is available Language
Ads within AI Overviews and AI Mode United States, Australia, Canada, India, Indonesia (AI Overviews only), Kenya, Malaysia, New Zealand, Nigeria, Pakistan (text ads only), Philippines, Singapore English
Ads above or below AI Overviews All 200+ countries where AI Overviews are available All languages where AI Overviews are available
Next in line (Google’s Q4 2026 plan) Brazil, Mexico and the United Kingdom Not stated

Google says the list “may not be exhaustive”, and the support page shows no update date in the text we read. Multiturn ads, which appear on follow-up questions in AI Mode, are launching in the United States first.

What does this mean for Arabic campaigns?

It means your Arabic Search, Shopping and Performance Max campaigns can already appear next to AI Overviews, but you cannot buy a spot inside an AI Mode answer in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Egypt or any other Arab market yet. Google’s blog and support page name no Arab country and no Arabic language for the in-answer placements. The blog does have a Middle East and North Africa edition in English and Arabic, but its article body says nothing about the region.

Two eligibility rules matter even where you are not live. Existing Search, Shopping and Performance Max campaigns are eligible automatically, with no new campaign or budget, according to the support page. And you cannot target AI Mode only or opt out of it separately from Search. When Google adds an Arab market, you should expect your existing campaigns to be in the pool unless you change the match settings.

For now, the honest answer to a client is: you can pay to sit next to Google’s AI answer in Arabic, but not inside it.

Is it worth waiting for? What Google said about earnings

It is worth planning for, not waiting for. On Alphabet’s third-quarter call on 28 October, chief business officer Philipp Schindler said the strong growth in AI Mode queries had an impact because of lower monetisation in AI Mode, as reported by Search Engine Roundtable. Google also claims click-through rates are already similar between sponsored and organic product items in AI Mode, using US data from 20 August to 3 September 2026. That figure is Google’s own, from the United States, and covers shopping items, not text links.

For an Arab advertiser the lesson is narrow. Google is scaling the format, but it is scaling it market by market, and the first wave is English-speaking. We would not move budget for it before an Arab market is on the list.

How does this compare with ChatGPT Ads for Arab advertisers?

It compares unevenly. OpenAI’s own availability list showed 13 Arab countries when we read it on 25 October 2026, while Google’s in-answer ads list none. Our guide to ChatGPT Ads for Arab advertisers covers the buying routes, and the note on the new automatic ad edits covers the default you should check before you launch. Availability is not performance, and we have no Arab-market results from either platform to compare.

What should an Arab advertiser do this month?

  • Keep Arabic campaigns eligible. Use Search, Shopping and Performance Max with sound match settings. Broad match and AI Max qualify for contextual matching; exact and phrase match qualify only for direct commercial-intent queries, according to the support page.
  • Watch the support page. Check the list of locations and languages every two weeks, and write down the date you read it.
  • Prepare the assets. Arabic headlines, product feeds in Arabic and landing pages that answer a question in the first lines will serve you in AI answers and in ordinary Search.
  • Measure what you can. Ads above and below AI Overviews are normal Search ads, so track them as you always do. Our AI Mode links and country test shows how Arabic AI answers behaved when we looked.

My read on this

We would not tell a client to wait for Google’s AI Mode ads. We would tell them the format is not sold in their market yet, that the first markets are English-language, and that the work that will qualify them later, clean feeds, clear Arabic copy and honest landing pages, pays off in Search today. If a rival claims to sell “ads in AI Mode in Saudi Arabia” now, ask them for the Google page that says so.

Frequently asked questions

“A competitor says my ads are already showing in AI Mode. Is that possible?”

Not as an in-answer placement in an Arab market, according to Google’s list. Call this the label mix-up: ads next to an AI Overview are not ads inside it. Ask for a screenshot with the country and language settings.

“Will my Arabic campaigns be moved into AI Mode automatically?”

Existing campaigns are eligible automatically once a market is live, and you cannot opt out of AI Mode separately from Search. Review your match types before then.

“Did you test whether Arabic searches show sponsored blocks in AI Mode?”

No. We did not run that test for this article, so we make no claim about what a user in Riyadh, Dubai or Cairo sees today. We plan to run it on a small set of Arabic queries and publish the result either way.

“Which Arab country will come first?”

Google has not said. Its Q4 plan names Brazil, Mexico and the United Kingdom only.

The better question

The useful question is not when Google will switch ads on in AI Mode. It is whether your Arabic campaigns, feeds and pages are ready when it does. If your feeds are complete and your landing pages answer the query in the first lines, keep your budget where it is and recheck Google’s list every two weeks. If they are not, fix that first: it will lift your ordinary Search results now.

If you want a review of your Arabic Google Ads readiness, send me the ten queries that matter and we will check how your ads and pages appear around AI answers.

Sources and limits: Google, “Ads in AI Mode expand to new markets” (28 October 2026) and Google Ads Help, “About ads in AI-powered experiences in Google Search” (no update date visible); Search Engine Roundtable, 28 and 29 October 2026, on Alphabet’s third-quarter call. We did not test Arabic queries for sponsored blocks in AI Mode.
